Our possible trip to Seattle

Kelly and I are working on planning our summer vacation for August. Our current idea is to fly out to Seattle and the surrounding area for a week. If any of you have spent time out there, we'd appreciate recommendations for places to stay and things to do, particularly outdoor things.
