Tax Filing Tips from Blinker
Apr. 14th, 2005 07:02 amIf you are planning to e-file your taxes, make sure you do it before Comcast comes to replace the cable modem, just in case your DNS winds up hosed afterwards.
I should have known it was too good to be true when I called Comcast and I said "I need a new cable modem" and they said "Sure!" and gave me a 2-hour service window the next day and the tech showed up right in the middle of it and it took 10 minutes to replace the modem.
DNS is not totally hosed, it's just hosed with respect to the router, so plugging my Mac directly into the cable modem and grabbing a new DHCP lease enabled me to file taxes but there was a little bit of panic first.
