Planning a "thing"
Nov. 22nd, 2004 09:28 pmWhen Kelly and I eloped in June, the plan was to have a party the following year. We're slowly getting going with the planning process. Kelly is referring to the event as "a thing" and I am calling it a "wedding celebration." Nobody's quite sure how to phrase it on the invitations, but we'll come up with something.
Our plan is to invite our families and our close friends for a brunch at the end of next June. We've been investigating venues. Do any of you local types have recommendations for caterers, photographers, musicians, or anyone else who provides services one might need for this sort of thing? Bear in mind that we're not having a wedding, just a party. We are, however, going to exchange rings which we haven't found yet, so I'm also looking for recommendations for local jewelers.
This is going to be the first time I've invited my family up to Boston. I'm a little bit nervous, but everyone's been really positive about the whole thing.
