T minus five
Mar. 14th, 2004 08:40 pmI'm not so good with the updates. This past week was a bit rough - I took my first (and presumably last) sick day of the year on Tuesday and we had a few temporary power outages at work on Thursday. My apartment looks like locusts descended on it, because pretty much everything that used to be in the living room is now in boxes. We're in good shape for moving next weekend, but it's still going to be a bit of a rush to finish this week.
Meanwhile, the living room and dining room at the new place are now green. We had an "uh oh" moment when we opened the can of paint, but it looks nice once it dries. We did a lousy job organizing the friends who had offered to help us paint, so we were on our own except for a brief visit from Alek. Maybe we'll get the rest of them to help us with the kitchen, once we figure out exactly what's going on in there. I'm so sick of shopping it's not funny, but we have no furniture so there's a few more weeks of it coming up.
Life after moving is going to be fun. Softball's starting up in two weeks. Kelly and I just got tickets to see Sting and Annie Lennox at the stupidly-named Tweeter Center at the end of June. Basketball season isn't ending the way I would have liked, although my team is playing in the championship on Saturday (I'm debating whether to go play, since it means leaving Kelly and her mother unsupervised at the new house and god only knows what they'll think up while I'm gone).
