I swear, I can't remember the last time a long weekend made me this antsy. Not that I'll be thrilled to wake up at 6am on Tuesday or anything.

While wandering around Davis Square last night after dinner with friends, we noticed that the wood furniture shop was going out of business. So this afternoon Kelly and I swung by there and managed to get two nightstand-sized bookcases (something we'd been meaning to get for the past two years, but hadn't gotten around to it) at a 50% discount. The owner of the shop said that he'd be re-opening somewhere else, but he wasn't yet sure where.

I got to use my newly leveled stove tonight, to try out a recipe that my mother had recommended a while ago (from a cookbook that Kelly also conveniently had a copy of). It's an Indian dish of chicken, red lentils and green beans with cumin and cardamom and peppers and cinnamon and all sorts of other stuff. Kelly was initially not so into the idea of eating anything made with lentils, but she said it was really good and I'm allowed to make it again. We went shopping for a few ingredients at the little Indian grocery store next to Diva. It's great and the prices are reasonable, but they only sell food in quantities of more-than-I-can-use. So now I need to figure out what to cook with about 4 cups of leftover red lentils.
