Getting back to work after my massive 4-day weekend was good. Trying to keep working this evening even though the cleaning crew had arrived and were loudly vacuuming was not so good.
I've reached the bottom of the reading barrel and I need to get to the library soon. Usually, the bottom of the barrel is a trashy novel borrowed from Kelly, preferably one that I made snarky comments about when she bought it. This time, it's "Four Blondes" by Candace Bushnell of Sex and the City fame (picked up for a dollar at the used bookstore when we donated my old computer to charity a few weeks ago). It's a series of four long-ish short stories about bimbos and I doubt I'm going to get through two before I give up. But it was either that or a Stephen King novel that she's been nudging me to read, and I sort of feel like I've read enough Stephen King novels that I don't have to read any more if I don't want to. Although it's possible that they're better than I remember, because I haven't read one since at least 1992.
