More books

So it turns out that the best way to get comments in my Livejournal is to ask for book recommendations (or post cat pictures).

Because the database decided to give me a hard time on Friday afternoon, I didn't get a chance to wander over to the megabookstores near Downtown Crossing.

Instead, I hung out at work until Kelly came back from her office holiday party and took the T downtown to meet me. We took a really nice walk down Newbury St. and wound up at the Victor Hugo clearance sale, where I picked up a copy of James Gleick's book on Richard Feynman, and paperback mysteries by Sujata Massey and Val McDermid (one of her older, cheesier novels from before she started writing the creepy stuff). Kelly was able to find someplace to sit down, so we avoided our standard bookstore argument (on the subject of "I want to go" / "but I'm still looking around." Average duration of bookstore visit is a measure of relationship compatability on which we fare poorly.)

I've just been given the five-minute we-need-to-leave warning, so I need to get going. We're off to the Museum of Fine Arts with fj and pinkfish. More excitement later...
