Inspired by various people's "so-and-so took me off their friends list" dramas, I decided to do something about my objection to the LJ interface's use of the word "friend." This required learning how to mess around with custom styles, which turns out to be relatively simple (if slightly inconvenient in that one can't easily apply the customizations to all of one's pages in one fell swoop).

see now this is when the interface for LJ is problematic--i can't just forward the above to [livejournal.com profile] geminigirl and say "well?" i could go to her LJ and make a comment to a post of hers hijacking her topic to ask her, i guess. or i can hope she reads [livejournal.com profile] slinkr's journal.

btw, i know how to make it so that only i will see certain people on my friends page--i just would like to streamline the viewing experience of those who read my friends page, as well.

You're in luck...I was reading the comments.

[livejournal.com profile] floodland gave me instructions for filtering your friends list. I lost them because my power went out before I saved them, but next time I see him on AIM or IRC I'll ask him.

(too weird. i just got three copies of this as e-mail).

anyway, thanks!!! please tell him that i know how to filter who sees what, it's what appears on my friends page when a person other than myself clicks on it that's at issue.
