the colors look fine but certain links are showing up in a hard to read way. i'm not sure if that's due to something you picked, however.
and i am not the least visually-artistic person on earth. why just this morning ayana noticed that i had picked my belt to match the buttons on my blazer. (and laughed at me for being a femme--i ask you--is that nice? she's a big meanie.)
i'm seeing dark blue links on a deep deep purple background for things like changing views--but i had to highlight them to get them to show up as readable. i don't think that i did anything to adjust what i see when i look at people's pages.
i'm using netscape 4.7 on a Dell Optiplex, it says (it's old, if that helps) under Windows NT. I can look from home but i think that machine is older and it's the same version of netscape, i think.
to follow up to myself (bad usenet etiquette--no biscuit!), i just now discovered that your messages have subject headers, so that's another thing that isn't showing up--i wish i felt secure that i'm seeing what others are seeing.
You're definitely not seeing what everyone else is seeing. Subject headers are white text on a purple background. Even with a 256-color monitor you should at least see a dark background and white text.
The culprit is Netscape 4.7. LiveJournal does the formatting with Cascading Style Sheets (CSS). Netscape 4.7 has atrocious CSS support, as does Internet Explorer 4. The current versions of Netscape and IE do a much better job with CSS.

(Sorry for all the questions, my long-dormant inner designer is having a busy day)
