More cat stuff

Brando is getting adjusted. He mostly likes to hide behind the couch, but he comes out if someone is in the room and then he walks around and wants to be pet. He's also gotten more interested in stuff in the room and even jumped up to look out the window after we opened the shades. Noise, like cars going by outside, still scares him and sends him back behind the couch, but he's doing pretty well for having only been here a day. He's totally cute and I think he's going to be an awesome cat once he gets settled.

Just-in-time merchandise

Even though they were still in the middle of their last game, the Red Sox were guaranteed a trip to the playoffs when Cleveland lost to the Chicago White Sox this afternoon. The Red Sox and Yankees are still finishing their game, but RedSox.com has already sent out e-mail announcing that Wild Card t-shirts and other merchandise are for sale. The wild card is the team that has the best record among teams who didn't win their divisions. While I'm impressed that they don't waste time, I find it even more impressive that they are going to sell t-shirts in honor of not winning the division to a city that is still awash in t-shirts from last year's championship.

I hate to say it, but I'll be surprised if either the Red Sox or the Yankees make it to the World Series this year.
