Feb. 27th, 2005 09:12 pmTo everyone who said kind things in response to my last post, thank you for being there. Kelly's letting herself be sad today before she goes back to work tomorrow. I've been chilling out and trying to give her some space.
It's just as well that we didn't have much going on this weekend, because we weren't really up for going out. Next weekend, we have a bunch of fun plans for Kelly's birthday. It's challenging to be married to someone whose birthday is 3 weeks after Valentine's Day, because as soon as I come up with something for Valentine's Day I have to switch gears and start thinking about her birthday.
Yesterday was also the first anniversary of the day we closed on our house. We celebrated that by observing that we still have no pictures up and resolving to do something about that this year.
In recent weeks, a number of things have independently reminded me about the existence of video games. Since giving up Windows at home, I have pretty much avoided games but today I was hit with a sudden urge to play some. We haven't used our DVD player in quite a long time, so I unplugged it and finally unpacked the Sega Dreamcast that had been sitting in a box next to the TV since last March. It's a bit dated, but still fun. I may not be able to leave it set up if I land some more off-hours contracting work next month. The laptop remains game-free, so that I have no choice but to get something done (or read LJ, I suppose) while I'm using it.
