Home alone
Feb. 8th, 2005 09:27 pmKelly's got parent-teacher night tonight and she's staying over with her folks, so I'm home alone with the cats. I had a less-than-successful vegetarian cooking experiment for dinner. I was trying to reverse-engineer one of my favorite dishes from a local Chinese restaurant and I didn't get it quite right. I'm starting to get really into this whole just-cooking-for-myself thing.
On my way home from work, I accidentally got off the train a stop early because I couldn't hear the announcer or see the sign. It was only another half-mile or so and the weather was nice, so I figured I'd just walk. I came out of a rotary the wrong way and wound up in Everett instead of near Sullivan Square. That was bad. Fortunately, just as I was thinking I had to walk all the way to Malden to catch the subway again, I noticed buses going by and was able to catch a bus back to Sullivan and walk home from there. Some days, I am not as smart as one might expect.
