Weekend wrap-up
Jan. 30th, 2005 04:56 pmKelly found the car keys. She had dropped them in the snow. I'm glad to have that mystery resolved.
The sidewalks have gotten a lot more walkable over the past few days. It's really nice.
My team won our basketball game yesterday. I played well, but jammed the fingers on my right hand repeatedly. It's a good thing I don't wear a ring, because my ring finger is twice as large as usual today. Kelly came to watch the game, which was great except for the part where she tried to give me defensive tips in the second half. She also compared one of the smaller players on the other team to my baby sister's high school teammates, fortunately out of earshot of the other team.
Kelly and I both ran into long-lost acquaintances (a co-worker from my first job and a non-LJ friend's ex-bf from before I met Kelly) at the BGBL talent show at Machine. It was a fun evening. We got to hear one of our friends sing for the first time. Speaking of gay bars, we keep hearing good stuff about Toast in Union Square on Thursday nights so we're going to try and go while Kelly's on February vacation in a few weeks.
On a sad note, E+B's dog, Atticus, got hit by a car on Friday. Thankfully, he seems to be okay after a day at the animal hospital, no broken bones or anything really serious. The driver didn't even stop. Some people are such assholes that I have no words for it.
I made carrot-cashew-curry last night. I made a bunch of minor mistakes like almost burning the cashews and not checking to see if we had all the ingredients before I started cooking, but it came out fine. Tonight, I'm making another non-traditional curry dish because I was having trouble finding an appealing recipe. I bought bananas at the grocery store too. I have to find out where Kelly keeps the banana muffin recipe because I'm on my own with that.
