Up too late

Somehow it got to be 1 in the morning and I'm not asleep yet. I suspect that this means I'm not going to get up early and go running near Davis Square. I will most likely wake up before noon and make it over to Josh's party though.

The Thanksgiving issue of Food & Wine (another frequent flyer mile freebie subscription) arrived today. Thanksgiving-themed cooking magazines always make me wish we were hosting a party for Thanksgiving. Maybe we should host one; we're going to visit my family in the middle of October so it's a little much to go again in November. On the other hand, I promised Kelly we'd go to NYC while we're down there for Thanksgiving. She's been really good about spending weekends with my relatives and not having time to go into the city, so I totally owe her one.

I wanted to try using iChat, mostly because AIM is a good way to keep in touch with my youngest sister, who is an instant messenging fiend. Unfortunately, I had long ago forgotten the password for my last AIM account and I had set up the account with a Lobby7 e-mail address that's been unusable since 2002. I've had enough free AOL accounts in my life that all the good variations on blinker are taken, so I had to resort to a more recent variation on my name. Anyway, it's in my LJ profile for those of you who are into that sort of thing, particularly those who have recently moved to faraway locations.

After a late visit to [livejournal.com profile] jss1113's party, Kelly and I went to do grocery shopping at Bread and Circus. I always warn her not to let me wander around the cheese department because it's a dangerous place. They had some of the Humboldt Fog that [livejournal.com profile] cthulhia has been mentioning in her LJ recently. It's seriously good stuff. At least we managed to get out of there without buying any chocolate this time.

Baseball playoffs in two days. I'm cheering for New York in their division series because I think that for Boston to win the World Series without beating New York would be like taking the easy way out. Somehow, I don't think that attitude will make me popular with any of my readers in New York or Boston (or DC, soon to be moving to New Jersey).
