This has been the week from hell. Most of the drama was Kelly's, but it stressed me out by extension. Going out for Thai food with E. last night was a refreshing change of pace. I'm reassured that I actually can deal with people, which is good because we have dinner plans tonight too.

Emma Donoghue, one of my favorite novelists, has a new novel out. I put in a reserve request at the library and was surprised when it came in very quickly. Unfortunately, they gave me an uncorrected galley copy marked "For Promotional Purposes Only." I'm debating whether to read it or hold out for a real copy. The library provides me with so much good free reading material that I'm reluctant to complain.

I'm a little stressed about next weekend's housewarming party. Throwing parties always stresses me out even though they usually go pretty well. Many of the usual suspects are going to be out of town this time, so my social anxiety is going through the roof. I am happy that we have a whole bunch of really great people coming over, but I'm still stressed out. It's a good thing that I married an extrovert because otherwise I'd have run off to live in a cave by now and nobody would have heard from me for years.

Kelly was going to go buy us a new kitchen cabinet today, but we discovered that we couldn't get the old one off the wall. One or two screws had been driven in with a drill in such a way that they can no longer be removed with a screwdriver. We didn't have much luck with our cordless drill either. This is god's way of saying "you should have dealt with it three months ago."

Thanks to [livejournal.com profile] dsandler_rss, I've discovered Bloglines and rapidly become addicted. Not only is it good for keeping up with blogs, it also lets me keep up with Livejournals without putting them on my friends page. This is great for maintaining a list of LJs by people who're great to read in small doses. It only gives you access to public posts and it doesn't show any comment info, but otherwise it's pretty good.
