Administration

So as to avoid boring those who're just here for the cat photos, I set up a filter for work/tech-related posts. Those of you who're on it just saw a whole bunch of stuff about Java. If you would like to be added or removed, please let me know (here or in e-mail), even if you're not currently on my poorly-maintained friends list. I expect that I'll wind up using this for a mix of tech-oriented posts and stuff about my ongoing attempt to figure out where my career is going.

On a related note, it occurs to me that I've given up on pretty much all the non-LJ online forums in which I used to participate. Usenet just got tedious and I've been hesitant to post anything that might hand my e-mail address to spammers or turn up in a Google search for my name. I've had no luck finding LJ communities that were actually worth reading and contributing to. Anyone have any recommendations?
