The new computer arrived today. It is very pretty and was an absolute breeze to set up. Now I just need to learn to use it. The one-button mouse isn't driving me nuts as much as I'd thought (and it's a vast improvement over the Thinkpad at work).
I'm still not entirely sure about this whole widescreen idea. I tend to run out of vertical space before I run out of horizontal space. Besides, having a screen this wide is just going to encourage me to write code with insufficient line breaks. But I can see how it might be beneficial, so we'll see.
Not much else going on today. Great lunch with co-workers at Penang, which turns out to be a pleasant restaurant if you're not watching my wife turn green from reading the menu. It's a Malaysian place in Chinatown and many of the dishes they serve are marked with little notes indicating that you should consult the server before you order them, just in case you thought that "chicken feet" meant drumsticks or something.
