Back in town
Aug. 18th, 2004 08:51 pmWe got back from Maine today. My net connection seems to be working again, but not very well.
We had a nice trip. The weather was great. I should have brought my bike because it turns out that Kelly doesn't really like walking around on the island (the roads are not terribly pedestrian-friendly). We did manage a nice walk on the rocks (photos later) and a short sea kayak excursion. Kelly's parents didn't want to have dinner with us because they're no fun, so Kelly and I went out and had a nice dinner at one of the local lobster houses. We also drank a lot more beer than usual, which was a good idea because otherwise I'd never have managed to fall asleep in the unusually narrow bed at the cottage.
On the way home today, we stopped in Freeport for a visit to the LL Bean store. Alas, the LL Bean store does not stock any clothes for tall chicks or fat chicks, so we didn't get any new clothes. We used the suggestion box to let them know what we thought of that. We did pick up a nifty braided rug despite not being quite sure where we wanted to put it.
Next up, our new furniture arrives, we go to the museum with Dean and FJ, and I start my new job.
