Stupid weather
Jun. 3rd, 2004 03:56 pmI spent the morning taking Kelly's car for it's 30,000 mile checkup. When I got out at 11, it was gorgeous outside and it seemed like it might finally be good weather for a bike ride. So I went home, had lunch and hung out with Kelly (who was home sick) and set out around 1:30. I had a nice ride through Charlestown, into the North End, and across the city. It took longer than you'd expect if you looked at it on the map because there were some detours and a drop too much walking when I couldn't figure out how to get from point A to point B. When I got to the Mass Ave bridge, I had been planning to ride down the Esplanade and then down into JP. However, I looked across the river and saw quite a few big grey rainclouds. Since I had no raingear and I have a hard time seeing through my glasses in the rain, I figured I should head towards home instead. So I rode back across the river to Inman Square and stopped to check out the spice shop there that I've been meaning to check out for ages. They had all kinds of interesting stuff which I'll need to remember when I see recipes that call for it, but it started raining fairly hard while I was browsing. I rode home in the rain and got moderately soaked, only to have the sun come out again about 10 minutes after I got home. If it were consistent with my belief in God, I would think that he was messing with my head.
