Penzeys postcard contest
Jan. 17th, 2004 04:22 pmThe new Penzeys catalog arrived today. Kelly and I are both big fans of their spices. When we visit my family in New York, we often stop by their store in Connecticut on our way home. It's a nice little shop and it's full of stuff that smells really good. And since they sell spices in bulk, they're not terribly expensive.
Anyway, I also like their catalog because it's readable and full of interesting recipes. They're thinking about opening up some new stores and this catalog features a contest. They are going to open a store in the metro area that sends them the most postcards by July 31, 2004. There's a limit of one postcard per address. The postcard has to say "I want a Penzeys in my town" and it goes to Bill Penzey c/o Penzeys Spices, 19300 West Janacek Court, Brookfield WI 53045.
Anyway, if you live in or near Boston, I think this would be a great idea. Even if you don't cook, it will be easier for your friends who do cook to buy spices and make dinner and invite you over.
In other news, Kelly just went to the Medford Public Library and came home with back issues of House Beautiful and This Old House. We're going to need the services of an interior design mediator soon.
