Kelly, who is usually very good with logistics, somehow got it into her head that my former co-worker's wedding was starting at 2. I didn't double-check. At 11, she looked at the invitation and exclaimed "oh my god, it starts at noon!" We got ready really fast and drove up to Danvers. The signs at the yacht club where they had the ceremony were very confusing and we wandered around the building twice before we saw the wedding party lining up. Fortunately, we weren't the only ones running on Jewish standard time and we were able to sneak into some seats at the back with another group of people after the bride had made her entrance.

The wedding was lovely. They had the ceremony right by the water and it kept just barely starting to rain and then stopping. The last time I saw the groom (two years ago at the first of our annual disastrous Rosh Hashanah dinners), he'd had two dates with the bride and he was already sure she was the one. Kelly and I wound up sitting with a bunch of current and former employees of the consulting company where I used to work. There was one guy who it was especially good to catch up with.

Other than that the weekend's been pretty quiet. Kelly's grandmother is visiting her parents, so yesterday they came down and we all went to the North End for lunch at a mediocre Italian restaurant. One of these days, I'll remember to actually look at restaurant reviews before going to the North End (it's not a neighborhood we visit frequently) because we don't have much luck with places we select at random. But it was nice to meet Kelly's grandmother and get another lecture from her dad on why I should go to business school.
