Blah blah blah....
Jun. 20th, 2003 01:00 pmOn the basis of my LJ posts,
magid once characterized me as a softball-playing workaholic. In that tradition:
So this Wednesday night, the rain stopped in time for the field to be moderately dry for my late-night softball game. This was too bad because by the time I got done with work I was really tired and more in the mood for my bad-weather backup plan of lounging on the couch at Dean and FJ's place. But we had a good game and might have won (the field lights went out at 10:45 halfway through the 6th inning, we were ahead by 2 runs but nobody's sure if the league rules say it counts as a full game).
In other news, I'm a few days into a free trial of RealAudio's Rhapsody service (formerly Listen.com). It's a celestial jukebox. I was expecting that the selection of tunes would be barely adequate, but it's really quite good. The software is less of a pain in the neck than the standard RealPlayer. I'd been a bit uncertain about network streaming, but the quality is great and I'd just as soon not have to deal with MP3 files. They've got the catalog well-organized for browsing and it's easy to add a whole album to your library or grab a playlist with popular tunes by a specific artist. If you mostly listen to music at your computer it's worth a look. Now I just need to get better at hearing my co-workers when I have headphones on.
