Handy softball tips from Blinker
Apr. 30th, 2003 10:36 pmFirst softball game of the season is on Sunday. Here's what I learned at practice tonight:
1. When attempting to catch a grounder, do not try to direct it into your glove by bouncing it off your left arm and then off your left ear. The ball will go wide and your ear will hurt.
2. When attempting to drive home from Jamaica Plain at night*, hire a native guide to escort you to the border so that you don't accidentally wind up in West Roxbury.
* Ordinarily, it's not so hard but I think this particular field is cursed because I get lost on the way there or on the way home no matter what I do.
