I just made a vat of chimichurri (not really a vat, but a rather large container) because Kelly bought a big bunch of parsley yesterday for a recipe that required only a few tablespoons and it seemed like a good way to use up the rest.

I took advantage of this weekend's grocery run to dump my spare change in one of the coin-redeeming machines. My can of change (a little more than a year's accumulation) was worth enough that our groceries cost $-116. The cute baby dyke cashier was shocked. Kelly couldn't stop laughing.

Chanukah's coming up right after Thanksgiving this year, which means that I'm barely going to have time to prepare for it before it starts (although I do actually have a menorah this year, and I managed to talk Kelly into delaying our holiday exchange of gifts until Lazy Jew Day in December so there's no shopping emergency yet).

Work is all sorts of interesting. Today I read an article that made me stop and think about whether or not we're building a better mousetrap (figuratively speaking--none of our code has been any use in catching the office's occasional furry visitors). Nothing earth-shattering, just something to ponder.

I'm not at all sure how well I'm handling the change of seasons this year. I used to crash really hard as soon as daylight savings time ended. This year, it's not so bad yet, but it's not exactly good either. I've been using the light box occasionally, and that helps. The cats love it too. At least they won't be depressed.
