non-stop excitement
Jul. 14th, 2002 11:09 amI had a really icky, hellish week. No energy or enthusiasm for work, multiple power failures at home, and a code freeze yesterday.
Despite the code freeze having been planned for 2pm, I wound up working 10am-6pm yesterday and the last few hours of that were torture. It didn't help that I had a caffeine headache and the cleaning service at work was waxing the kitchen floor with a very loud machine. It was one of those days when I wonder if I'm really cut out for the whole start-up racket.
On the bright side, I biked to work and back for the first time. It took about an hour each way, including time for getting lost (too many streets were one-way the wrong way) and stopping at a bike shop to get my back tire pumped up on the way home. I'm not going to bike to work every day, but it's definitely worth doing on weekends. We also had a really nice evening hanging out with Alek, which made me feel much less cranky.
Today I've got to get my long-overdue article done (power failures at the beginning of the week meant no writing when I'd planned it) before softball. We've got a late game, and then I'll come home and crash and try to get rested for work on Monday when I'm going to have to crank out some documentation that's behind schedule. I wish this week was going to be relaxing, but all signs point to no.
