I'm having a pretty quiet weekend. A lot of work, but also some downtime which I really need because I'm developing a nasty cold. I'm a little bummed about not taking full advantage of opportunities to socialize, but it's probably wiser to know my limits and rest up for next week (the last before the big deadline towards which I've been working for the past month). Kelly, Alek and I went to see Enigma at the cheap movie theater in Arlington last night. It's a movie about British codebreakers in WWII, which is a topic that I find absolutely fascinating and that Alek mostly learned about reading "Cryptonomicon." Overall not a great film, but definitely a fun way to spend an evening.
Today, Kelly picked me up at the office and we took a little trip out to Newton, to the eyeglass store where she used to work, because we both needed new glasses. Mine will be a bit of a change from the ones I've got now, but I think it'll be good. We were both exhausted, but I did manage to make some soup for dinner, which is finishing up on the stove while we watch Iron Chef. I hadn't cooked in weeks and was really missing it.
