Rain. Also shoes.
Apr. 28th, 2002 09:40 pmToday was one of those days where nobody (in this house, at least) wants to get out of bed. I didn't make it down to JP for pancakes because I was overwhelmed by a combination of laziness, weather, errands, and sore muscles (thanks to C's 8-hour 3rd-floor moving ordeal yesterday). I have a feeling that this marks the beginning of that phase of the year when there's so much happening on the weekends that I spend most of my time chastising myself for not having the energy to go to everything that sounds like fun.
But errands did get done. We went to the New Balance factory store in Brighton, which was a mind-boggling experience. I purchased 3 pairs of shoes, at a single store, and didn't have to mail-order anything. To people with ordinary-sized feet, this may be unremarkable. But I wear a women's 13 AA. I think that the last time I walked into a store and bought sneakers was probably in 6th grade. Go New Balance! If only they made high heels, I'd be all set.
Anyway, my vacation is officially over. It was mostly pretty good, although the weather could have been better. I'm now sinking into a state of new job anxiety that's probably going to keep me from getting a good night's sleep. It's not like I've really got anything to be anxious about. But when has that ever been a deterrent?
