Easing up...
Mar. 25th, 2002 11:28 amYou know you're in trouble when the weekend is so stressful that you're glad it's Monday.
I missed Saturday's BGBL awards banquet due to a last-minute crisis, but we did manage to make a brief appearance at a going-away party for 2 of the 3 friends who are moving to Colorado within the next few weeks (actually, they're hitting the road today). The third isn't leaving until mid-April, and it looks like we'll be hosting a small going-away shindig for her.
Sunday was a bit better. I drove down to JP for the first softball practice of the season (last week's was rained out). I'm very rusty, but some of last season's improvement appears to have stuck. I spent Sunday evening not paying much attention to the Oscars and doing some last-minute studying for this morning's Java certification exam.
The exam went reasonably well. I passed, but didn't do as well as I would have liked. Still, it was a really good learning experience and I've seen a bunch of ways in which the studying process improved my coding skills. I'll probably do a fuller write-up of the test and the study guide that I used on my weblog later today. Right now I'm just glad that it's over with.
This is a quiet week at the office because 2 of our 4 developers are on vacation. It's also a short week because I'm off to New York for Pesach on Wednesday morning. Wednesday and Thursday will be spent helping my mother prepare for Thursday night's seder, and I'm going to bring my laptop and work from my parents' house on Friday so that I can stay for at least part of the weekend. Visiting my family can be hectic, especially at Pesach when a large number of people come over (although this year's seder will be smaller than usual), but it'll be really nice to see everyone.
