Some people just shouldn't drive...
Mar. 16th, 2002 11:43 amThe car saga continues. For those of you who've joined it already in progress, here's a recap:
Kelly's waiting for AAA to tow her car and hoping they can get it to her mechanic before they close at 1. I'm really a little mystified. She takes pretty good care of her car and she's not a bad driver, yet we still have to contend with what seems to be a never-ending stream of car accidents and breakdowns.
Update: Kelly just called. The AAA guy showed up, tried to start her car, and it worked. So she's going to drive home and take me back there to get my car. With any luck, that'll be all of our excitement for the day and I'll have time to study before I head out for the evening.
- March 5 - Kelly's car fails to start in the parking lot at school. Kelly borrows her father's truck to drive home.
- March 6 - Kelly gets a ride home from school, borrows my car to go to the gym. When she returns, the front passenger-side window on my car won't roll up.
- March 7 - Kelly takes my car to school, the auto body shop there tells her that the window needs a new motor. They'll try to order the part.
- March 13 - The auto body shop at school fails to obtain the part for my car, but will be fixing her car soon. I make an appointment to get my car fixed at the dealer next Monday.
- March 14 - Kelly brings her car home. Everyone is happy. Upon arriving at home, Kelly realizes that the back passenger-side window of her car won't roll up. I threaten to buy us a house in Haverhill if she has any more car trouble, so that she can start biking to work.
- March 16 - Kelly calls me from the parking lot of the Medford Stop and Shop because her car won't start.
