Things you don't normally hear while watching the game

"We've been here so long that the blimp had to go home."

This was while Jeter was up during the top of the 14th. Even if this series only lasts 5 games, it may include enough innings for 6.

[In other news, I may need a more neutral icon.]

Dude. I'm from Brooklyn and even I'm rooting for the Sox these days.

Though if we had another Mets-Sox series.... ouch. I might have to take a vacation from my household to survive that.

Don't bother, unless you're willing to talk about 7 games with enough innings for 8 or 9. :-)

So get this -- I'm posting from Robert and John's bedroom while waiting for them to return from the game. I caught the last couple of innings around the corner at an Irish pub in Central Square called "the Field" with a motley assortment of folks and I tell ya', it was a great time a wonderful end to my trip.

R&J were sure they'd be home long before me (I had a looong dinner with some old friends), but they were wrong. I've been pounding out "Take me out to the Ball Game" on the first floor piano for the last ten minutes.

A vivid visit to Boston, I'd say.

I don't think we ever heard Yankees suck at the game, although we did hear it on the street as we were leaving since there are vendors selling such stuff.

Do you think...
"But Boston Swallows"

would sell well in NY?

I did.

But I heard "Fuck the Yankees" more than "Yankees suck" on the T on Saturday night/Sunday morning, returning from dinner at RoJo's.

That chant

I heard it, briefly, during the 8th-inning pitching change (while you were visiting the men's room). Karl and I agreed that it was a bit premature, since the Sox hadn't even tied the score yet.
