When you and your girlfriend go out with another dyke couple and you discover that not only do the 4 of you have very similar haircuts but you also have basically the same haircut schedule.

I'm getting my haircut tomorrow at the salon in Kelly's hometown because I have time to drive up there. Despite hopes that the new less-butch haircut would decrease the frequency of incorrect gender identification from random strangers, some guy called me "faggot" as I was getting off the subway at UMass last Tuesday. Fortunately, I was in a very good mood on account of the gay marriage decision, so it didn't fully register until I was about halfway up the stairs.

i got mistaken for a teenage boy while at a bank with my dad when i was there. i *think* i got mistaken for a teenage boy, since i was very brightly dressed and it's kind of a, um, serene neighborhood, but the teller did refer to me as my father's "son".
