This is my first weekend of the month when I am not spending any time in an office, and the weather has been perfect. Maybe a little too perfect. Kelly and I both got lightly scorched while kayaking yesterday, despite lots of sunscreen. But we had fun, followed by a few hours of napping and watching baseball.

Speaking of baseball, it's a good thing [livejournal.com profile] geminigirl is too busy moving to read my LJ, because I have to say that this year's Mets are much more fun to watch than this year's Yankees. It's mostly Jose Reyes who is fun to watch, but the rest of the team isn't looking too bad either. If there was a Mets vs. Red Sox World Series, I might be somewhat torn.

After dinner at Christopher's in Porter Square last night, I stopped by the recently-opened Emack and Bolio's for some ice cream. If they had put this ice cream shop any closer to Healthworks, the swanky women's gym where Kelly works out, it would be on a treadmill. It's an interesting choice of location, but I'm not sure if it's better for the gym or the ice cream shop.

Today, we did some work on invitations for "the thing", which involved another struggle with the new printer. I had a nightmare last night that the store from which we're buying the paper was going out of business. I think that my subconscious was telling me to hurry up and get these things done. These will be the dorkiest invitations our friends and relatives have ever received, but hopefully they'll come anyway.

We had to do some grocery shopping, so we decided to combine it with a walk along Memorial Drive, which is the big street by the river that gets closed to cars on Sundays. I took my new Canon Powershot A95 digital camera along. It's about the same size as my old camera, but it has twice the megapixels, more manual controls, and an LCD screen that swings out and rotates, which is really fun to use.
