Except for some grocery shopping yesterday, I have gone nowhere. On the other hand, a few dozen friends, relatives and co-workers (the latter two mostly Kelly's) came here yesterday for our housewarming party. It was really nice to have everyone here. Today I was totally lazy. I slept late, spent some time reading Quicksilver, and watched the Patriots beat the Jets. I have some non-job work stuff that I need to get done tonight, but nothing critical. I am not finding a lot of energy for anything computer-related this weekend. Hopefully it'll come back on Monday.
We put a picture up on the wall in the living room yesterday morning and now it's really starting to look like people live here. As a bonus, it also freed up valuable space in the coat closet. I finally got around to buying a real coat (not a ski jacket) this year and I'm a little weirded out when I see my reflection in windows. Speaking of windows, I need to get some curtains up because it's starting to get pretty darn cold outside and our radiators are strategically positioned next to windows so we can heat all of Somerville.
I went out for a beer with most of my old co-workers (from the last job) on Thursday and had a really nice time. I'm glad that they're all working and apparently doing well. My track record for keeping in touch with former co-workers isn't great (I still talk to about 3 people from the first job and none from the second job) but I think this last job was a major turning point in my career and I need to get better about maintaining relationships. Speaking of maintaining relationships, my 10-year high school reunion is coming up around Thanksgiving and I'm debating whether or not to go. I should probably at least e-mail the organizer so he can send the details to me directly instead of to my parents' house.
October is almost over. Halloween parties next weekend, and then daylight savings time ends and we need to break out the sun lamp for another winter.
