It's weird. I lived by myself for two years before I moved in with Kelly and it was great. Now, she goes away for two days*, and being home alone is no fun. It would probably be more fun if I had arranged my schedule so that I could come home and cook a leisurely dinner of foods she doesn't like, but I didn't quite manage it. It would also have been more fun if I hadn't passed up free Celtics tickets because I couldn't get in touch with any local sports fans on very short notice. So there are mitigating factors and it's not that three years of cohabitation have turned me into a total loser.

In other news, the web site of a certain local newspaper posted the following from one of their reporters: "If you are gay or lesbian and have a straight sibling who is getting married this year, the Globe would like to interview you."
It just so happens that I am a lesbian (shocked, aren't you?) and that one of my straight siblings is getting married this year, so I filled out their little form and we'll see if they call. Not that I'm sure I should be discussing my family with newspaper reporters, but I have definitely observed the differences between my sister's experience and my own. It's actually quite fortunate that my sister is getting married this summer because if she weren't then Kelly would be able to start nudging me about a wedding much sooner.

* She's not really away, she just has to work late so she's crashing at her parents' house because it's much closer to school. The cats are sure it's my fault, so they're ignoring me.
