Somehow, we have finished Christmas with not one, not two, but three new vegetarian cookbooks. I had told Kelly that I wanted one. At Thanksgiving, going through my mother's cookbooks, I had specifically told her that I wanted a copy of Madhur Jaffrey's World Vegetarian cookbook. So she gave me that last night. Today, Kelly's brother and his gf gave us a copy of the Moosewood low-fat cookbook. And Kelly's mother saw a vegetarian cookbook with lots of pretty pictures at Borders while she was shopping, so she bought that for us too.
I suppose that with the mad cow hysteria that began on Tuesday, it's a perfectly good time to do some vegetarian cooking. And I have a mostly-vegetarian friend visiting in early January, so it'll be nice to try some new stuff for her. Although I have a feeling that whatever I make first, Kelly will try some and then say "you know, this would be even better with chicken."
