To everyone who responded to my last post, thank you for the kind thoughts.

Recovery's in progress. We went up to Wilmington yesterday to clean out what was left of Kelly's car. It was pretty upsetting, but good to get it over with. She's going to start driving again within the next day or so. In the meantime, I've been driving her around. Potholes and stopping short are painful for her, so she's developed a tendency to gasp loudly every time she thinks I'm going to have to use the brakes. Fortunately, my boundaries are good enough that I'm not taking this as a critique of my admittedly imperfect driving skills.

Kelly came with me to Am Tikva's Rosh Hashanah services last night. It was the first time she'd come to services with me, and it was really nice to have her there. Am Tikva is a GLBT congregation and it's pretty welcoming to non-Jewish partners, so it seemed like a good place to go. There were lots of lesbian couples with kids there, which was cool too. Kelly says that when we have kids, we need a sperm donor who can sing because neither of us has much of a voice and otherwise there's no chance our kids will be able to carry a tune.

If you're celebrating the new year this weekend, have a happy one.
