Jul. 20th, 2002 06:41 pmAnother lovely Saturday that I did not spend riding my bike. Instead, I got a phone call from my boss in the morning and had to go to work and fix some stuff. I was there until 4:30-ish and we still have a few bugs that are a bit inexplicable and hard to reproduce. It will do just fine for the moment, but my inner perfectionist is displeased.

zzbottom was hanging out at the ArtBeat Cafe with his gf, so I stopped to say hi for a few minutes. queue was playing chef, so I got to say hi to him and Cafe mastermind pheromone too.
pheromone reminded me that we had been discussing tonight's Neil Finn concert in someone else's journal (I totally can't remember whose). She had left a comment about going and assumed that I'd get it in e-mail. Sadly, I did not have LJ configured to e-mail me, so I missed it. And I had made other plans tonight, so no concert for me. But I've enabled that handy feature to avoid such problems in the future.
The good news is that my other plans are that Kelly,cbunnell and I are taking our friend G out for dinner to celebrate his recent completion of a college degree. He's been working on getting his degree for the entire time that I've known him and I'm really happy for him. I would have thrown a large party, as I had promised several years ago, but he specifically told me that I couldn't so we're just going for Thai food.
The other highlight of the day was that I received an envelope in the mail from my parents. When I opened it, it contained a sealed envelope addressed to my sister. It was from our younger sister (who is away at sleepaway camp), and on the back she had written "DO NOT OPEN! SEND TO BETH, I DON'T HAVE HER ADDRESS". In it was a slightly delayed but totally delightful birthday card.
